Light Colors Accessible Luxury

Residential House Designed by Chih Ting Chen

The impression of the forest at sunrise is harmonized with a grayscale color palette, orange light, wood, and stone. Accompanied by natural light, the space provides a sense of spaciousness and comfort. Following the path of light flow, the space is gradually linked from the outside to the inside. The floor-to-ceiling windows bring in an abundance of natural daylight, so that the public sphere is bathed in the light from dawn to dusk.

In the world of interior design, creating a space that exudes luxury while maintaining accessibility is a delicate balance. Chih Ting Chen, a renowned designer, has achieved just that with their latest project, Light Colors Accessible Luxury. This residential house showcases a unique blend of nature-inspired elements, minimalist design, and a soothing color palette.

One of the standout features of this design is the use of light colors and natural materials. With fewer colors in the room, the focus is on the natural stone texture, which is complemented by the white color scheme. This combination creates a relaxing and tranquil ambiance, allowing residents to let go of all their stress and unwind in a serene environment.

The open-plan design of the space allows light to naturally flow through the floor-to-ceiling windows, creating a seamless connection between the indoors and outdoors. The abundance of natural daylight bathes the public sphere in a warm glow from dawn to dusk, enhancing the sense of spaciousness and comfort.

Mirror reflections play a significant role in this design, opening up a more transparent visual depth of field. Mirrors are strategically placed on both sides of the entrance and adjacent to the dining room, extending the view and creating an overlapping hierarchy through a sense of misalignment. The reflective properties of mirrors brighten up the space and create a softer light effect.

The attention to detail in this design is evident in every aspect of the space. From the hanging storage cabinets covered with beveled wood grains to the sleek lines that reduce the oppressive feeling of volume, every element has been carefully considered to create a harmonious and inviting atmosphere.

In the dining room, a round lamp shines with its brightness, illuminating the slate dining table and creating a warm and cozy atmosphere. The bedroom continues the gentle texture of the public domain, utilizing the original characteristics of the materials to create a pure, tranquil, and soothing vibe. The crystal-clear marble, along with the sunset, offers a quiet and elegant charm.

Light Colors Accessible Luxury is a testament to Chih Ting Chen's design prowess and their ability to create spaces that are both visually stunning and functional. This project showcases the beauty of simplicity, where the natural elements and carefully selected materials take center stage. It is a true embodiment of accessible luxury, providing homeowners with a feast for the senses and a serene living experience.

The project was completed in May 2021 in New City, Taiwan, and has garnered recognition in the design community. Light Colors Accessible Luxury was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2022. This prestigious award recognizes well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. It is a testament to the design's integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, contributing to a better world.

Light Colors Accessible Luxury is a true masterpiece that showcases the power of design to create spaces that are not only visually captivating but also provide a sense of comfort and tranquility. Chih Ting Chen's meticulous attention to detail and their ability to harmonize nature-inspired elements with minimalist design principles make this residential house a true gem in the world of interior design.
